From 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, the Lyman Museum will present a special lecture about the legends of Hawaii’s volcano goddess, Madame Pele.
While Madame Pele lives in Halema‘uma‘u and presently is strolling through Pahoa, she has traveled to all the Hawaiian Islands — battling with siblings and lovers — in the many legends about this famous immortal. Kama‘aina historian Boyd D. Bond tells these tales of our fiery neighbor to the south.
