Born in Kaimu, he was a retired supervisor for the County Public Works Highway Maintenance Division, former construction worker for Jas W. Glover Ltd., noble of the Lawful Hawaiian Government; a member of Hoku O Ke Kai (Star of the Sea) Catholic Church in Kalapana and Kalapana Ohana Association, and Farrington High School class of 1957 graduate. Visitation will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the family home, 12-5038 Kapoho-Kalapana Rd., Kaimu. Visitation continues 10 a.m. Saturday and again 9 a.m.-noon Sunday at the family home. Funeral service at noon. Burial 1 p.m. on family property. Aloha or casual attire. Clayton James Pacheco, 71, of Volcano died Feb. 27 at Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu. Dr. Elizabeth Haweaokalani Desha Brown Waia‘u, 90, of Hilo, died Feb. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired teacher for Hilo High School, member of Haili Congregational Church, Haili Church Choir, Haili Cantata Choir, Haili Women’s Choir and Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame, and former director of Haili Cantata Choir, Haili Youth Choir and Hilo Hawaiian Civic Club.
