Frank “Frankie” Lawrence Moniz III, 88, of Kapaau died March 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kohala, he was a retired herbicide specialist for Mauna Lani Golf Course, a planter operator for the former Kohala Sugar Co., and member of Kohala Kupuna Softball Team and New Hope Christian Fellowship Waimea. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea for a combined memorial service for him and his late son, Samuel Moniz. Service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers.
