March 4 was the national “Spread the Word Day,” and Hilo High School hosted its annual Acceptance Day Campaign.
The national campaign is conducted to promote awareness, acceptance and respect for students with intellectual disabilities. Together, Hilo High Key Club and Special Olympic athletes, along with the culinary, health and Japanese classes, Leo Club, Basketball girls and S.A. collaborated in putting on this event.
Food, games and entertainment by Hilo High’s own Blue &Gold Guys were part of the festivities.
Hilo High School Project UNIFY would like to invite all schools on the Big Island to promote this important message by participating in Project UNIFY.
For more information about starting a Project UNIFY program in your school, call Jo Ann Nishimoto at 974-4021.
