Scott Hiroyuki Asai, 90, of Kapaau died Feb. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kohala, he was a retired agriculture research technician for the University of Hawaii, foreman for the former Kohala Sugar Co., U.S. Army Korean War veteran awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and Bronze Star, and member of Kohala Jodo Mission, Kohala Senior Citizens, Disabled American Veterans, and Hawaii Government Employees Association. Visitation 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Kohala Jodo Mission in Kapaau. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Nobu S. Asai of Kapaau; sons, Keith H. Asai and Kelly J.
