Sarah “Granny” “Aunty K” Ku‘ulei Togashi, 79, of Keaau died March 17 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Olaa, she was a retired Keaau Elementary-Intermediate School cafeteria service worker and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship, Keaau Kula Kumiai, Hilo Lions Club, Higashi Hongwanji Mission and Keaau Nutrition Center. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Thomas Togashi of Keaau, Hiroshi Kajiyama of Las Vegas and Kelly Kajiyama of Keaau; daughter, Darlene (Stafford) Villanueva of Washington state; sisters-in-law, Sophie Aiona and Eiko Kajiyama, both of Pahoa; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Sunao Kadooka, 96, of Kainaliu died March 6 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Keei, he was a U.S. Army 100th Infantry Battalion veteran, a recipient of two bronze stars and Congressional Gold Medal, a retired Konawaena High School tractor mower operator, retired coffee farmer and member of the Keei Kumi, Kona Hongwanji Kyodan, Shinwakai, and Kona Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7. Visitation at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Kona Hongwanji in Kealakekua. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers. No koden. Survived by wife, Yoshiko Kadooka of Kainaliu; son, Neal (Lorraine) Kadooka of Kainaliu; daughters, Hester (David) Oka of Pukalani, Maui, and Sandra Kadooka-Cowles of Maple Valley, Wash.; brother, Larry (Myra) Kadooka of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
