The Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court reprimanded Hilo attorney Everett Walton on March 30 for filing a disclosure of compensation with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court that inaccurately stated a fee arrangement, entering into an of counsel relationship and sharing fees with a non-Hawaii corporation, and assisting that corporation in the unauthorized practice of law in Hawaii.
The reprimand for professional misconduct doesn’t prevent the 68-year-old Walton from continuing to practice law, according to a statement from the Office of Disciplinary counsel.
