Just a thought about Mayor Billy Kenoi’s credit card problem. Seems to me that respect is no longer taught in school or home nowadays. What kind of message does this behavior send?

‘Morally corrupt’
Regarding Mayor Billy Kenoi and his county credit card use: What bothers me the most about his behavior is that he’s a married, family man hanging out at a hostess bar.
The fact he continued to use his county credit card tells me that he didn’t want his wife to know.
When he paid back $7,500 “just in case,” it looked to me like he was caught hoping he’d never have to pay back his personal charges. Isn’t that dishonest?
In summary, he appears morally corrupt.

Unfair comparison
Does anyone really think the astronomers who want to build the Thirty Meter Telescope are like the religious fanatics who murdered the people at Charlie Hebdo (magazine) in Paris?
Really? The scientists don’t claim to be acting in the name of God. They just want to use an acre or so near the top of the mountain to carry out some research that will advance our knowledge of how the universe works.
It’s impossible to predict where such knowledge will lead, but history tells us the more we know, the better we learn to provide for the needs of everyone, not to mention the next generation of young people who will be able to pursue careers in science and engineering without moving away from home.

It was recently discovered that the NextEra Energy community meetings are nothing but public relations dog-and-pony shows, more on the order of a trade show to promote how great, grand and wonderful they want us to think they are.
It also was noted they have very delicate sensibilities; by publicly referring to them with a word that ends with error, you could find yourself facing a lawsuit.
