Henry Cordeiro Sr., 88, died March 7 in Las Vegas. Born in Kealakekua, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer, World War II veteran and a recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal, and a member of the American Legion Society and Hawaii Farm Bureau. Funeral services to be Saturday, May 2, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kealakekua. Viewing at 8 a.m., remembrance at 9:30 a.m. Mass service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by children, Geraldine (Ronald) Magallanes of Las Vegas, Cheryline (Richard) Ono of Kealakekua, Pearline (Leonard) Grace-Yamada of Las Vegas, Henry Cordeiro Jr. of Kailua-Kona and Gordon Cordeiro of Kealakekua; sister, Agnes Kailawa; hanai daughters, Theresa (Hano) Grace and Arlene (Louis Jr.) Magallanes; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Anna “Ana” Benjamin Hao, 70, of Kalaoa, Kona, died March 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in North Kona, she was a retired room maid at the former Keauhou Beach Hotel. Visitation at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at the Honokohau boat harbor. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire, flowers welcome. Survived by husband, Rofley Hao of Kalaoa; daughters, Momilani (Seneti) Kalavi and Sharon Manuel, both of Kalaoa, Brenda (Misinale) Kalavi of Makawao, Maui, Pearl (Ipo Kuikahi) Hao of Pahoa, and Roxann (Darryl Bissen) Hao of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Malia Kihe of Captain Cook, Rose Henriques and Josephine Anakalea, both of Kailua-Kona; sisters-in-law, Annie Mandaquit of Kalaoa, Jane (Henry) Serion of Holualoa, Darlen Sanoria of Kalaoa, and Ethel Hao of Captain Cook; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
