The Big Island Photo Expo, presented by the East Hawaii Cultural Center and Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art, will run June 5-25.
The Big Island Photo Expo, presented by the East Hawaii Cultural Center and Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art, will run June 5-25.
This juried show has master and open divisions in five categories: nature, portrait, urban, abstract and black and white. The expo is open to Hawaii residents of all ages.
Original photographs are the basis for the final image. Traditional, digital or alternative photographic processes were permitted.
The juror is Laurel Schultz, who has taught photography at the University of Washington, Photographic Center Northwest and Kona’s Donkey Mill Art Center.
The opening reception is at 5:30 p.m. June 5. Pupus and refreshments will be served. There will be an invitation-only soft opening and juror talk at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
