University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Team Hoku was honored at the state Capitol recently for their victory in the games category of the 2015 Microsoft Imagine Cup Pitch Video Challenge.
Team members Lucas DeRego, Theodore DeRego, Brian Hall and Casey Pearring were presented with a congratulatory certificate by House representatives on April 1. Members were accompanied by faculty member Harry Keith Evans.
The Microsoft Imagine Cup Competition is recognized as the premier global student technology competition.
Team Hoku created reForge, online scifi sandbox game where players command highly customizable ships in tactical battles. Players collect resources, trade in a player-driven economy, and team up to competitively control various parts of the game universe.
