Hawaii Preparatory Academyʻs Lower School presented its annual May Day celebration on May 1 at the school’s Gates Performing Arts Center.

This yearʻs program, “Malama Honua: To Take Care of Our Foundations,” honored the worldwide voyage of Hokuleʻa and recognized “our reverence for the world we live in.” The school also paid tribute to Headmaster Lindsay Barnes, who is retiring in June.

Members of the fifth-grade class represented Na Aliʻi o Hawaiʻi, and special guests included students from kumu Malani DeAguiarʻs Upper School Hawaiian language honors IV class, who performed with the second-graders.
