An inmate incarcerated on drug charges at Hale Nani Correctional Facility escaped Friday night, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
Lyndal Gilliland was unaccounted for at the 10 p.m. headcount. Staff did a search and immediately called police.
Gilliland was serving time for promoting a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia. His sentence on those charges expires in December, but he’s likely to be charged with second-degree escape, a Class C felony carrying a possible 5-year prison term, once he’s found.
The 22-year-old Gilliland is 5-foot-9 weighs 130 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.
