Hilo’s roller derby league, the Paradise Roller Girls, will be hosting a game against Pacific Roller Derby (Oahu) on Saturday. The league is offering a special invitation to all service members and veterans.

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, all fans who show a valid military or veteran
ID at the ticket window will receive free admission.
“I’ve been in the U.S. Air Force for over 12 years. Knowing my community recognizes my service — and those who currently or have previously served in all the branches of the military — is always a great feeling,” says PRG skater Nerf Hurt-her (Alison Wagner). “Plus, getting to watch amazing women smash each other for free is awesome!”
The game will take place at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo. Doors open at 4 p.m., game begins at 5 p.m.
The action-packed fun is geared toward the whole family. Tickets are $5, free for keiki ages 5 and younger. Concessions will be available inside. No strollers, coolers or beverage containers are allowed.
