Diana “Yoshie” K. Arakaki, 89, of Kapaau died April 8 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Lahaina, Maui, she was the retired owner of A. Arakaki Store in Kapaau, a former cafeteria manager and member of Kohala Hongwanji Mission, Kohala Okinawa Kenjin Kai and Kohala Senior Citizens. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Kohala Hongwanji Mission. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, Edward (Arlene Tamura) Arakaki of Hilo and Barry (Janice) Arakaki of Kapaau; daughter, Blanche (Stephen Gross) Arakaki of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Ethel Arakaki of Kapaau, Suzanne Arakaki and Marilyn Keau of Honolulu; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mark Douglas Dawson, 47, of Keaau died Feb. 25 at home. Born in Alabama, he was a photographer. Celebration of life at a later date.
