Colleen Aubrey and Vanessa Salinas have been selected to the 2015 NFCA Division II West Region team as selected by regional coaches.
This is Aubrey’s third post-season award. The senior outfielder was a first-team all-PacWest and second-team Daktronics all-Region selection. Aubrey was among the league leaders with a .425 batting average as the team’s lead-off batter. She scored 45 runs, hit 13 doubles and four homeruns while knocking in 26 RBI.
For Salinas, this is her second award having been selected second-team all-PacWest. After a year off, the pitcher/designated player returned for her senior season and responded with an 18-8 record and 1.98 ERA. She also struck out 91 with 20 walks for a 4.5-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. At the plate, she batted .323 with 3 doubles, 5 homeruns and 25 RBI.
So far this post-season has garnered coach Peejay Brun’s squad eight post-season awards.
In addition to Aubrey and Salinas, senior first-baseman Emily Greene was a first-team all-PacWest and second-team Daktronics all-Region selection. Senior designated player/catcher Melanie Morelos was a second-team all-PacWest selection.
