Thomas “Tommy” Alfred Billand, 65, of Keaau died May 19 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a former welder, fabricator and custom car builder, and former member of Na Kane O Ke Awawa (Poi Pounders) Motorcycle Club. Private services. Survived by son, Christopher Billand; brothers, Frankie (Michaela) Billand, Robert (Barbara) Billand, Paul Billand and Leslie Billand; sister, Mary Delphine; nieces, nephews and cousins. Julita Bocalbos Escarrilla, 85, of Waimea died May 21 at North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born in Lupao, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, she was a seamstress for U.S. Naval Station Great Lakes and member of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) in Honokaa.
