Ruth Chiyono (Higa) Alo, 92, of Kapaau, formerly of Hilo and Oahu, died May 9 at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in 9-1/2 Mile Camp, Olaa, she was a waitress at the Elliott’s Chuckwagon, kitchen worker at Masa’s Cafeteria and member of Kohala Okinawan Kenjin Kai and Aunty Sally’s Senior Center. Services pending. Survived by son, Melvin P. (Belinda Borges) Alo of Hilo; daughters, Jerry P. Horner of Mililani, Oahu, and Bea L.
