Paul Yuen Pui Kan, 83, of Hilo died May 30 at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Hong Kong, he was a businessman and retired teacher. Burial of his cremated remains at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Survived by daughter, Shirley Kan of Waimea; son, Joseph Kan of San Diego; sisters, Wynna Wai-Lim Kan Metharom of Thailand and Mary Wai-Ling Pan of Connecticut; brothers, Yuen Too Kan of China, Yuen Chiu Kan of Canada, Yuen Ming Kan of China, Yuen Chi Kan of Canada and Yuen Shun Kan of China; five grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Alejo T. Tejada Sr., 87, of Keaau died May 20 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, he retired from the Former Puna Sugar Company as a senior laboratory analyst. Private services held. Survived by wife, Felicidad G. Tejada of Keaau; sons, Nestor Tejada, Alejo (Alma Yano) Tejada Jr. and Edward (Gwen) Tejada of Keaau; daughter, Jane (Eric) Kurosawa of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Faith Paulette Ybarra, 66, of Glendale Ariz., died May 23 at her home. Born in Hilo. Visitation to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary Chapel in Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. in the chapel and internment will immediately follow in the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. Conolences may be sent in care of Ybarra’s sister, Lillian S. Wamar, at 83 Hanohano St., #A, Hilo. 96720-3478. Survived by husband, Tomas Federico Ybarra; daughters, Kimberley Ann Rios, Angeleigh Marie Ybarra, Shawna Leigh Ybarra, and Asa Alissa Amaya; siblings; Lillian Sharon (Lawrence) Wamar, Sandra Lee Rosas, Arlene Simmons, Patsy (Gilbert) Valenzona, and Norma Jean Kuroiwa; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
