The University of Hawaii at Hilo’s College of Continuing Education and Community Service offers a one-day dance workshop, “Introduction to Brazilian Zouk,” 2-5 p.m. June 27 in the Vulcan gym.
The workshop cost is $25 and is open to dancers ages 16 and older.
Instructor Marie Alonzo Snyder will introduce the basic rhythms, musicality body movement and partnering techniques for leading and following. Alonzo Snyder has degrees in dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a doctorate in art and art education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
