For the month of June, KTA Super Stores in Hilo will be raising money for Hospice of Hilo.
For the month of June, KTA Super Stores in Hilo will be raising money for Hospice of Hilo.
Registers at the stores will have a colorful notepad with the option of donating $5 or $10 to support the delivery of compassionate care to Hospice of Hilo’s patients and families throughout the east and south portions of Hawaii Island.
“We are so grateful to KTA for supporting us in this effort and so very grateful for our community in all of their generosity over the years in helping us in the work we do,” said Hospice of Hilo CEO Brenda S. Ho. “Many of the services provided by Hospice of Hilo are not reimbursed by insurance providers and these costs are not passed on to patients or families.
“Donations from the community ensure programs like our grief counseling are free for anyone in the community that has lost a loved one.”
All monies raised by the KTA register campaign will stay in the local community to ensure all who need it have access to the care and services offered by Hospice of Hilo.
Hospice of Hilo provides specialized comfort care for patients facing a life-limiting or serious illness. Services are delivered to patients in their place of residence, or in the Pohai Malama a Harry &Jeanette Weinberg Care Center.
In addition to hospice services, Hospice of Hilo also provides palliative care for patients facing a serious illness and still seeking treatment.
Bereavement counseling is open to any and all residents who have lost a loved one (regardless of whether the loved one received hospice care).
