Carl “Kale” Keola Ciriako Sr., 66, of Kealakekua died June 19 at home. Born in Kelakekua, he was a registrar and teacher at Konawaena High School, roof truss fabricator at HPM, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran awarded the Bronze Star, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Wednesday (July 1) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kona Stake Center in Kailua-Kona. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Faith Ciriako of Kealakekua; sons, Chad (Erin) Basque of Kealakekua and Carl (Kathy) Ciriako Jr. of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Carla-Mae Bailey of Haiku, Maui, and Marleen (Leko) Mareko of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Raymond (Ramona) Ciriaco of Captain Cook and Kenneth (Gloria) Ciriako of Kealakekua; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
