Joey Allen Acia, 49, of Keaau died June 22 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a former prep cook for the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by brothers, Anthony (Jeanine) Acia of Kurtistown and Emelio Acia III of Hawaiian Paradise Park; sister, Rose (Anthony Burrows) Rose of Wahiawa, Oahu; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosamellia “Aunty Rose” C. Carvalho, 78, of Hilo died June 9 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Pahala, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Smartwear and a member of Heritage Christian Fellowship in Hilo. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Heritage Christian Fellowship. Donald “Don” Merrill Bremer, 89, of Keaau died June 21 at home. Born in Los Angeles, he was a retired choral conductor and music director, founder of the Hawaii Island Teen Court, U.S. Navy photographer in World War II, nature photographer and member of the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Services held. Survived by wife, Nina Shipman Bremer of Keaau; daughters, Lianne Bremer and Carolyn Bremer of Long Beach, Calif.; stepdaughters, Westerly Gardner of Keaau and Lani Shipman of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Peter Happi, 71, of Waikoloa died June 20 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was co-owner of Hawaii by the Sea Realty, a U.S. Army Veteran, metaphysical student, writer, teacher and light worker. Private celebration and memorial at a later date. Survived by wife, Barbara Happi of Waikoloa; sister, Marilyn Cassella of Oceanside, Calif., Pat Kerf of Sacramento, Calif., and Joann Sung of San Francisco; one cousin; nieces and nephews. Nikki “GG” Harris, 74, of Hilo died June 21 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in West Virginia. Visitation 1-2 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at Kaumana Drive Baptist Church in Hilo.
