The body of a diver reported missing off a Ka‘u beach was found late Wednesday afternoon.
Robert Furtado of Ka‘u was last seen by his dive partner at about 5:30 a.m. about 200 yards southeast of Punaluu boat ramp.
The body of the 60-year-old diver was discovered floating about 150 yards offshore of the Punaluu Beach Park pavilions almost 12 hours later, according to a Hawaii Fire Department statement.
Police said an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
