Highlighting the evening will be HPAF’s highly anticipated collaboration with Grammy winner Gary Washburn and his jazz band.
What’s in store from the Honokaa teacher, composer, performer and arranger? Washburn promises “a slack key for strings Hawaiian-style tune, a spider waltz, a jazz quartet and more.”

The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is a world-class summer music festival in Waimea. For three weeks every July, the event brings excitement and cultural vitality to the community, performing more than 20 concerts in Waimea, Honokaa, Hilo and Kona.
The String Program was created in 2011 by Hawaii Symphony concertmaster Iggy Jang.
