The American Red Cross Hawaii State Chapter, East Hawaii, is conducting two first-aid courses this month at the chapter offices, 55 Ululani St. in Hilo.
“Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED” is offered from 9:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. July 18 and 26. Become trained to recognize and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries and life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, and learn how to use an automated external defibrillator. Cost is $110.
“Adult First Aid/CPR/AED” is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. July 18 and 26. Learn to recognize and care for victims of illness and sudden injuries and learn how to administer CPR and use an AED for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies on adults. Cost is $90.
Both classes are full course — training conducted in a classroom, instructor-led with video, book work and hands-on skills (practice on manikins).
