Police have charged a 23-year-old Hilo man for a burglary that occurred either late last year or early this year in Hilo.

Police have charged a 23-year-old Hilo man for a burglary that occurred either late last year or early this year in Hilo.

Sometime between Dec. 27 and Jan. 9, a house on Komohana Street was broken into and a laptop computer and jewelry were taken.

Michael Kenui was arrested Monday evening and charged today with first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft and contempt of court.

Kenui’s bail was set at $9,750. He remains at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.
