Why paddle with one undefeated crew if you can be a member of two?

Peterson completed two perfect Moku O Hawaii seasons Saturday when Puna Canoe Club’s men’s 50 and mixed 55 canoes won their races Saturday at the island championships at Hilo Bay.

Puna used the late push to unseat seven-time champion Kai Opua 232-223.

Next up for Peterson and his crews are the state championships, Aug. 1 back at Hilo Bay.
