Two men died in separate incidents today at a Waikoloa resort.

According to police, a subcontractor was electrocuted while performing renovations and a guest later drowned while swimming in the ocean.

Both deaths occurred at the 69-400 block of Waikoloa Beach Drive, police said. That area is home to the Waikoloa Beach Resort.

Police identified the worker as Aaron Barrett, 34, of Honokaa. He was pronounced dead at 9:40 a.m. at North Hawaii Community Hospital after being shocked an hour before.

At 12:36 p.m., police received a report of a possible drowning and identified the victim as Cong Guo, 44, of Shanghai, China. He was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m.
