Hilo man charged with burglary

A Hilo man is being charged with burglary, theft and drug offenses after a break-in last week in Hilo.

The burglary was reported after someone stole personal items from a home on Iolani Street on July 15.

Police investigation led to the identity of a suspect, 37-year-old Alan Filoteo of Hilo.

Filoteo was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree theft, promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $11,000, and he made his initial court appearance Friday.
