Mildred “Ma” Theresa Haleamau Fields, 88, of Hilo died July 22 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in South Point, Ka‘u, she was a retired Woodcraft of Honolulu employee and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ainaola Ward. Celebration of life at a later date. Ann Natsuko Gota, 86, of Hilo died July 10 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a cosmetologist, owner of the former Ann’s Beauty Salon and member of Hawaii County Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Charles “Charlie” Sakae Kishimoto, 91, of Hilo died June 28 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honomu, he was a retired picture framer for Reed and Jay Photography, a photographer/picture framer for the former Modern Camera Center and Hilo Photo Supply, and member of Hui Okinawa. Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired bellman for the Sheraton Waikiki, bellman for Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, former bell captain for the former Alexander Young Hotel, employee for the former Kauai Sugar Plantation, and member of Hospitality and Healthcare Union Local 5. Waichi Ouye, 101, of Hakalau died July 9 at home. Born in Umauma, Hawaii, he worked the former C. Brewer &Co. at Hakalau Sugar Plantation, Pepeekeo Sugar Co., and Hilo Coast Processing Co.; was active with Honomu Hongwanji, Boy Scouts, and Big Island Beekeeping Association; was a presidential appointee to Hawaii Federal Farm Bureau and volunteered at Kamana Senior Center and Hilo County Information Services. Florentina Guzman Palafox, 88, of Waimea died July 14 at home. Born in Paauilo, she was a laundry attendant at The Orchid at Mauna Lani and member of First Baptist Church of Waimea.
