The National Association of Counties held its 80th annual conference in Charlotte, N.C., where Hawaii County Council member Dennis “Fresh” Onishi received the Presidential appointment to the 2015-16 NACo board of directors.
The National Association of Counties held its 80th annual conference in Charlotte, N.C., where Hawaii County Council member Dennis “Fresh” Onishi received the Presidential appointment to the 2015-16 NACo board of directors.
Out of 90 applicants, NACo President Sallie Clark from El Paso County, Colo., nominated Onishi to one of 10 at-large seats.
The National Asso-ciation of Counties is a voice of America’s counties to Washington, D.C.
“Congress has opened the door to NACo by providing assistance with language for proposed legislation that will help the counties,” Onishi said.
