HONOLULU (AP) — A package mailed from Las Vegas containing a Golden Nugget casino sweater, a pillowcase and 6 pounds of methamphetamine led authorities to a man’s Aiea apartment.
Inside, he allegedly had another 14 pounds of crystal meth, a large amount of cash and a revolver.
According to a criminal complaint, authorities intercepted the package last week. A postal inspector posing as a mail carrier delivered the package to the Kaonohi Street apartment.
Bryant Iwai, the man living in the apartment, told agents this was the third drug parcel he received from Las Vegas. He told them he paid $60,000 for the meth and planned to sell it for a profit.
Iwai is scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday for a detention hearing. His federal public defender declined to comment.
