Hawaii County officials will dedicate a new playground Monday at the Mauna Kea Recreation Area. The 3,700-square-foot playground is designed for keiki 5-12 years old and includes ropes, rails, ladders and other features. The county-managed park is located at the 34-mile marker of the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, also known as Saddle Road. The dedication event begins at 10 a.m. and will be attended by Mayor Billy Kenoi, Hilo Councilman Aaron Chung and other county staff.
