William “Bill” Connett Aierstuck, 67, of Hawi died July 1 at home. Born in Waukegan, Ill., he was a retired National Parks Service system specialist, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and loved the outdoors, sports, a good read and discussion. Private services. No flowers. Memorial donations to Hawaii Island Humane Society. Cecilia “Dalin” Maliakamalu Kalua‘u, 54, of Honaunau died July 6 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Robert Augustus Mitchell Jr., 98, of Volcano died July 21 at home.
