The committee of Hawai‘i Nei 2015, a juried art exhibition at Wailoa Center, said the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and Arts Board of Commissioners approved an Art Selection Acquisition Committee to visit and review entries for possible recognition awards.

Big Island artists are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity offered by the foundation.

This year’s Hawaii Nei featured category is “Bugs!: Insects, Spiders and their Kin.”

Artwork will be displayed at the Wailoa Center from Nov. 6 through Dec. 17. All artwork must be registered online by Oct. 22. Photos of artwork required for registration.

Wailoa Center will be closed to the public during the state foundation’s review period before the opening reception Nov. 6.

Artists can enter more than one piece. A nonrefundable fee for each entry will be collected with online submission. Entry fees are $10 per entry for adults. Youth younger than 18 can enter their artwork for free.Donations are accepted.
