Police ID murder victim

Police have identified the victim of a Friday homicide in downtown Hilo as 49-year-old Danielle Caron, a homeless woman.

Caron was identified through fingerprints but authorities withheld her name until next of kin could be notified.

Curtis Hodges, a 35-year-old Shiloh, Illinois man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death.

He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance this afternoon.
