After a three-month summer break, Tea Chats are back at 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center.
In observance of National Awareness Month for Women’s Health and Childhood Obesity, JoAnn Aguirre will present the latest research on tea as a preventive measure for chronic diseases such as gynecologic cancers and childhood obesity. The public is invited to join Aguirre and learn more about this engaging topic while enjoying tea, scones, clotted cream and jams and curds.
The event is part of an ongoing Tea Chat series presented by Aguirre. With more than 20 years of experience with tea, Aguirre continues to share her knowledge and experiences she’s gained from around the world.
She is the owner of Hawaii Island’s only dedicated tea shop, Teaching Tea, located in Manono Marketplace. She offers tea education, quality loose leaf teas, gifts and accessories. Her selection of teas includes exquisite Hawaii-grown teas as well as teas from around the world.
Tickets for this event are $15 or $23 for nonmembers and can be purchased at ‘Imiloa’s front desk or calling 969-9703.
