See efforts by 10 members of the Hawaii Photo Shooters camera club to capture some of the varied beauties of the Big Island in their photographs from Sept. 4-23 at the Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art.

An opening reception will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday (Sept. 4). The museum is located at 141 Kalakaua St. in Hilo.

Exhibiting Hawaii Photo Shooters members are Bryn Berg, Steve Bohlert, Mary Bowman-Dement, Kate Burroughs, Nancy Chaney, Ken Jackson, Susan Miyasaka, Demetra Reynolds, Becky Settlage and Jean Wence.

The photographers range from retired teachers and entomologists to biologists and 4-H extension agent.

They all live on the Big Island, sharing a love of photography.

Hawaii Photo Shooters is a digital photography club for beginners and mentors, and welcomes new members.
