The University of Hawaii at Hilo’s College of Continuing Education and Community Service is offering an iPhone workshop and Apple Macintosh system class this month.
A two-day hands-on iPhone workshop is from 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 15 and 17 at the SeniorNet Lab, 891 Ululani St., second floor, in Hilo. Tuition is $60.
A two-day general introduction to computers with special emphasis on the Apple Macintosh system is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 and 24 in UCB 125 Mac Lab. Tuition is $65.
• iPhone — Beyond Just Making Calls, led by instructor Evan Clark, will acquaint participants with various functions, including calling features, sending and receiving text and picture messages, and more.
Participants must provide their own iPhone, models 4 or higher, with a data cord. The latest iOS updates should be installed before class.
• Clark also will teach participants the basic features necessary to operate a Macintosh computer (iMac/MacBook Pro/Mac Air) with the latest Yosemite operating system.
Through hands-on instruction, students will become familiar with navigating through windows, saving documents, loading photos, navigating the Internet, transferring documents from USB drives, backing up files and much more.
