Marta Pascual Abellera, 93, of Pahala died Aug. 17 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a retired harvester for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Pahala Filipino Club. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 12) at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at the Pahala Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by husband, Benito D. Abellera of Pahala; sons, Alfonso (Zoraida) Abellera Sr., Ernesto (Pilar) Abellera and Efren (Maile) Abellera of Pahala; sister, Maria P. Carig of Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Dixie Jo Elgin LeMay, 83, of Kailua-Kona died July 26 at home. Born in Omak, Wash., she was a retired secretary in the food processing industry, gardener, seamstress and past member of Oroville Eagles Lodge. Beverly “Pumpkin” Suzanne Medeiros, 75, of Pahoa died Sept. 3 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired factory supervisor for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of Ladies of the Round Table at Life Care Center, Wailani Canoe Club, Koa Puna and Wicked motorcycle clubs. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday (Sept. 11) at Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo. Celebration of life service at 6 p.m. Survived by daughters, Beverly “Loke” (John) Medeiros of Keaau, Kawahine “Bully” (Kris) Medeiros of Oahu and Roseanna “Nena” (Rocky) Medeiros of New York; brother, Robert (Nancy) Rivera of San Diego; sisters, La Verne (Ernest) Pauline of Kaumana and Mollie (Don) Cohen of Tennessee; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The late Albert John DeMotta Sr. is survived by, among others, wife Mary Rios DeMotta. Her name was incorrectly submitted in an obituary published Wednesday.
