Everyone is invited to the 2015 Hawaii Island Pride Parade and Festival on Sept. 19 in downtown Hilo.

The theme for 2015 is “Forward Together.”

The celebration begins at 10 a.m. with the Pride Parade in downtown Hilo. Pat Rocco, a pioneer for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer equality, will serve as grand marshal.

An afternoon of fun follows immediately after the parade with a festival beginning at noon in Mooheau Bandstand and Park.

The festival will feature live entertainment, crafts from local merchants, great food, and informational booths from community groups.

This is a family friendly event with special activities just for kids.

Hawaii Island Pride still has room for groups or individuals interested in participanting the parade, as well as entertainers and vendors for the festival.
