A Puna man has been arrested and charged with murder after being indicted Wednesday by a Hilo grand jury.
Sean Alan Rutledge, who was in custody at Hawaii Community Correctional Center on an unrelated matter, was arrested at 3:05 p.m. Friday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother, 63-year-old Nadean Rutledge of Pahoa.
Her body was discovered with suspicious injuries outside her Kapoho Kai Drive home on Aug. 25.
Sean Rutledge remains at the jail without bail until his initial court appearance tentatively scheduled for Monday.
