Hilo Little League meeting

Hilo Little League will be conducting its annual meeting of members and board of directors election from 5-6 p.m. Sept. 29 at Panaewa Community Center.

HI-PAL havoc tournament

The Hawaii Police Department’s HI-PAL program, will host the “Halloween Havoc #8” 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Panaewa. The two-day tournament will be held Oct. 24-25, at the Panaewa covered courts at Panaewa Park.

Team entries are being accepted in the following age groups 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, high school boys, girls 10 and under, girls 12 and under, girls 14 and under and high school girls.

The age cutoff date is Dec. 31, 2015.

The deadline to enter is Oct. 16. Each team will be required to complete a registration packet.

Teams interested in participating or anyone requesting additional information may call Officer Richard Itliong of South Hilo Community Policing at 961-8121.

Parker fun run Oct. 17

Parker School in Waimea is hosting its 16th annual George Heneghan Fun Run and Color Stampede on Oct. 17 at the school’s lower campus.

At the color stampede, participants are splashed with different colored powder throughout the race.

This event consists of a 1-kilometer keiki run which starts at 7:30 a.m. for kids ages 11 and under, followed by a 5K Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m.

Entry fee is $30 for adults and $25 for kids 11 and under.

Registration forms are due by Oct. 7. Late registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt on race day.

Race day check-in opens at 6:45 a.m. at Parker’s lower school and registration will not be accepted on race day.

Medals will be awarded to first-place overall male and female finishers in the 5K run/walk and 1K run/walk, and first place finishers in each age category.

All proceeds will support Parker’s athletics program.

Nobu Yamauchi sign-ups

The Nobu Yamauchi RBI Organization is holding registration for T-ball (ages 5-6 born between May 1 , 2009 to April 30th 2011), mustang (8-10 born between May 1, 2005 to April 30, 2008) and girls softball (14-18).
