Masako Motobu, 98, of Hakalau died Sept. 7 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Makaweli, Kauai, she was a retired planting crewmember for the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co., member of Hakalau Jodo Mission, Wailea Kumiai and Hui Okinawa. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, George (Hiroko) Motobu of Keaau and Raymond Motobu of Kwajalein; daughter, Evelyn (Clifton) Lariosa of Honolulu; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
