A painting by Volcano Village artist Ira Ono was selected for the Hawaii State Art Museum’s 50th anniversary exhibit called “Hawai‘i, Change &Continuity,” which runs through Oct. 30 in Honolulu.
A painting by Volcano Village artist Ira Ono was selected for the Hawaii State Art Museum’s 50th anniversary exhibit called “Hawai‘i, Change &Continuity,” which runs through Oct. 30 in Honolulu.
The piece, titled “The Inner Court,” is a mixed-media collage painting “that evokes the diversity of the spirituality of the island cultures.”
Ono has been a full-time artist for more than 30 years and his work is in collections throughout the United States and Asia. He is the founder of Volcano Garden Arts, a gallery and historic gardens featuring his own art and the artwork of more than 100 other local artists.
