Applications for the quasi-judicial hearings challenging the rules were received from Michael Kumukauoha Lee and Andrea DeCosta.

The state Board of Land and Natural Resources, which adopted the rules in July in response to protests against the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope, was to consider the request last Friday. A spokeswoman confirmed the matter was deferred.
