Creating Freedom Shrines, which display replicas of documents such as the Bill of Rights and Gettysburg Address, is a major project of Exchange Clubs nationwide. There are other local installations — in the state building in Hilo and at Hilo High School. ”We tend to forget about all of our freedoms, all the sacrifices people have made,” Aloha Exchange Club president Curtis Chong said. “The installations are a way to jog that memory.”
