United Community Church, located at the corner of Kinoole and Mohouli streets in Hilo, invites the public to attend a day of celebration for its 119th anniversary, with a bazaar from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

A special ceremony is planned to rededicate the church and its adjoining facilities. With the community, church members will recall the church’s humble beginnings, view the present happenings and share hope for the future.

During the program, there will be a dragon dance along with the Puna Hongwanji taiko drummers, fireworks and special music by entertainer King Pon.

The bazaar will feature a rummage sale with bargains galore. Items for sale will include baked goods, fresh fruits, veggies, flowers and plants. Other activities will include food and health demonstrations, craft vendors, horseshoe toss and entertainment throughout the day. Plate lunches also will be available.
