Hilo Toastmaster Kim Pierce competed against six other Toastmasters who evaluated Sam Gills’ speech, “Summer Vacation,” at the 2015 Division C Evaluation Speech Contest at Central Pacific Bank in Honolulu.

Pierce now advances to the District 49 Finals. She will compete with the top eight evaluators in the district Nov. 7 at the Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu.

“Representing the Big Island Toastmasters on Oahu at the Fall Conference is an exciting first-time experience for me,” Pierce said. “This organization throws you outside your comfort zone and encourages you to grow.”
